ERNST FUCHS – Was born in Vienna on February 13, 1930. He was deported to a transit camp for children in 1938, his mother saving his life by divorcing his Jewish father. In 1945 he studied with Albert Paris Von Gutersloh at the Vienna Academy of Art. There he founded the Vienna school of Fantastic Realism with Arik Brauer, Wolfgang Hutter, Rudolf Hausner and Anton Lehmden. By 1962 Fuchs had gained international recognition and began teaching the Mische Technique to the many students who had gravitated to the master.
